BURIED NOT DEAD

Buried not dead
(2021) essays

***SHORTLISTED VICTORIAN PREMIERS LITERARY AWARD***

Buried Not Dead is a collection of essays on art, performance, literature, sexuality and the life of the city. It features artists, writers and activists, some internationally renowned, like Marina Abramović and Mike Parr: others include Latai Taumoepeau, Beverley Nicholas (tattoo artist Cindy Ray) and Kathleen Mary Fallon. The portraits of these figures, the variety of genres in which they work, and the scenes they inhabit present an intimate and expansive archive of a world rarely recorded in our histories. McGregor interrogates her own life and work through the prism of her subjects, creating an oblique memoir at the same time.
